Maple Sour Cream Cake

  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. maple sugar
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/4 c. butter,melted
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp.vanilla

Beat egg thoroughly, add sugar, butter and continue beating. Mix flour, baking soda and salt together.   Add sour cream alternately with flour mixture. Add vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased 9 inch square pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.  Let cool and frost, if desired.

   Frosting:  

  •   8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  •   1/2 c. maple syrup 
  •   1 tsp. vanilla

     Beat cream cheese with electric mixer until smooth and fluffy.  Gradually add maple syrup and vanilla.  Beat until smooth and spread over cake.
